Founded in 1995 by volunteers who wanted to create livelihood opportunities for marginalised communities, JVSI works through collaboration, continuous community engagement and practical development programmes.
Jan Vikas Samiti Itasagar was initiated by a group of volunteers who had seen the constant migration of people from Bihar in search of work, alongside the persistent challenges faced by farmers. Their response was to create an organisation that could act as a catalyst for sustainable livelihoods.
The organisation’s approach is built around meaningful collaboration with communities and multiple stakeholders. The goal is not only to provide a source of income, but to create a path toward dignified life, respect and long-term self-sustainability.
Empowering Marginalised Communities through sustainable livelihood.
By being a catalyst for change, we aim to ensure dignified and sustainable livelihood opportunities by engaging with multiple stakeholders to empower communities.
